With a strong belief in the power of a smile, Gustav Ehrenreich created his joyful Hoptimist movement in the late 1960s. The goal was to create a figure that served as an eternal reminder to remain positive and optimistic. For although the 1960s are often referred to as "The Happy Sixties", the decade was marked by unrest. Therefore, Ehrenreich's design was a welcome source of joy in an otherwise turbulent time.
Bimble and Bumble represent the very first Hoptimists from the designer's hand: a girl in a dress with smiling eyes and an attentive boy with a split on his head. Today, these happy Hoptimists are part of Danish design history and spread joy around the world. The figures are available in four different sizes and a wide selection of colours, adding plenty of sparkle, cheer, and joy.
