For me, Christmas tree decorations should be special, preferably ornaments that become a fixed tradition on the tree. I have decorations given to me by my grandmother and my mother, and these decorations have been on my first Christmas tree since 1980 and will continue to be there until the end of my life. When my boys leave home and get their first Christmas tree in their own home, they will receive an item from their great-grandmother's and grandmother's Christmas tree, and of course, a set of my Christmas tree ornaments, and so it should ideally continue for many generations to come. It gives a warm feeling inside when you look at the tree and think: "There hangs Grandmother's beautiful glass bauble, and there are Mother's homemade paper cones with a curly handle." I would like to pass on this tradition to other families with these sweet and fun little ornaments. I must remember to mention that here in our home, it's a tradition for the attic gnome to decorate our Christmas tree overnight.
