The Big Five
You don't have to go to Africa to meet the Big Five – with Hoptimist, you can get up close. So close, in fact, that you can give them a little nudge and watch them jump with joy. Because at Hoptimist, the Big Five are not looking for prey, but a smile and good humor. Here you will meet a strong buffalo, a cute rhinoceros, a spotted leopard, an attentive elephant, and a majestic lion. They are wild, but in a sweet way – and they make everyday life a little more fun.
With a strong belief in the power of a smile, Gustav Ehrenreich created his cheerful Hoptimist movement in the late 1960s. The goal was to create a figure that was a constant reminder to stay positive and optimistic. Because even though the 1960s are often referred to as "The Swinging Sixties", the decade was characterized by unrest. Therefore, Ehrenreich's design was a welcome source of joy in an otherwise turbulent time.
Bimble and Bumble represent the very first Hoptimists from the designer's hand: a girl in a dress with smiling eyes and an attentive boy with a spring on his head. Today, the happy Hoptimists are part of Danish design history and spread joy around the world. The figures are available in four different sizes and in a wide selection of colors that spread lots of cheer, mood, and joy.
There is guaranteed to be a Hoptimist for every occasion and every person.
